開放作文與傳統(tǒng)意義上的書面表達(dá)是形似而神不似，是一種全新的書面表達(dá)形式。隨著高考英語改革進(jìn)程的不斷深入與發(fā)展，相信英語書面表達(dá)的命題形式也會(huì)日趨靈活與開放。開放作文更能反映出考生的真實(shí)寫作水平。
1．開放作文的命題特點(diǎn)
(1)自由發(fā)揮的空間大
開放作文屬于非控制性寫作或非任務(wù)型寫作，即主要根據(jù)文字提示、圖畫展示或表格列舉等形式設(shè)題，留有一定的空間讓考生自由發(fā)揮。
(2)能力要求拔高
開放作文對考生的能力要求較高，考查也更全面。它不僅考查考生的語言表達(dá)能力、語言組織能力，而且還考查考生的邏輯思維能力、發(fā)散思維能力、想像能力以及多角度考慮問題的能力。

①開放作文通常以提供一個(gè)故事材料為主，人稱的使用較為靈活，考生應(yīng)該依據(jù)文章提示準(zhǔn)確定位人稱。
②確定人稱、時(shí)態(tài)后，考生應(yīng)將重點(diǎn)放在文章的遣詞造句上?？忌鷳?yīng)盡可能運(yùn)用自己熟悉的單詞、短語或句型來靈活表達(dá)。
