1、 Unit 5 The power of nature Natural disasters自然災(zāi)害對(duì)人類社會(huì)造成的破壞往往是觸目驚心的。來(lái)看看下面這位同學(xué)所做的關(guān)于自然災(zāi)害的研究吧。 Natural disasters come in many forms.They are all dangerous and can lead to death and destruction.Examples of natural disasters may be tornadoes,tsunamis,earthquakes,hurricanes,and many more.Natural disasters
2、 could also be a serious lack of food.Each of these disasters strike (爆發(fā)) in its own way.It may be with rain,big waves,too much sun and no rain,or even strong winds.Many Southern or coastal states see more disasters than other states.Michigan has never had to deal with disasters like these,or as lon
3、g as Ive been in Michigan nothing really bad has happened.Many states in the south get tornadoes every year and more than once. In 2011,Japan was hit by natural disasters that left the country in need of food and safety.They werent just hit by a tsunami but also by an earthquake.The earthquake also
4、damaged a nuclear power plant which began to leak (泄漏) radiation.The earthquake was recorded to be much stronger than the earthquake that hit Haiti.It was also recorded to be stronger than the earthquake that hit San Francisco a while ago.Another natural disaster was Hurricane Katrina,which put more
5、 than half the state under water. When natural disasters hit a city,the people there may have to pack up the most needed belongings (財(cái)產(chǎn)) and leave their house that they grew up in with so much memory.Since I started researching this topic I realized how dangerous natural disasters really are.When I see another tornado or hurricane I will feel a lot different about them and change my view on the things that happen. 謝謝觀看!
