1、Unit 2 lesson3 Bell and His TelephoneTHE ANSWERS ARE:1.electrical 電力的2.keen desire 強(qiáng)烈的愿望3.settle (in )定居4.citizen 居民Do you know who he is ?BELL AND HIS TELEPHONE 電話的發(fā)明家是英國(guó)人亞歷山大貝爾。 貝爾出生在英國(guó)一個(gè)聲學(xué)世家,后移居美國(guó)。在波士頓曾開辦過增益聾啞人教師的學(xué)校。由于職業(yè)上的原因,他研究過聽和說的生理功能。后受聘為波士頓大學(xué)聲音生理學(xué)教授,1873年,他辭去教授職務(wù),開始專心研制電話。 要研制成電話,先要把聲音信號(hào)變成電信

2、號(hào),再把電信號(hào)變成聲信號(hào),在貝爾之前,已經(jīng)有不少人在研究這個(gè)問題。1875年貝爾在工作中看到電報(bào)機(jī)中應(yīng)用了能夠把電信號(hào)和機(jī)械運(yùn)動(dòng)互相轉(zhuǎn)換的電磁鐵,這使他受到了啟發(fā)。貝爾開始設(shè)計(jì)電磁式電話。他最初把音叉放在帶鐵芯的線圈前,音叉振動(dòng)引起鐵芯相應(yīng)運(yùn)動(dòng),產(chǎn)生感應(yīng)電流,電流信號(hào)傳到導(dǎo)線另一頭經(jīng)過轉(zhuǎn)換,變成聲信號(hào),隨后,貝爾又把音叉換成能夠隨著聲音振動(dòng)的金屬片,把鐵芯改作磁棒,經(jīng)過反復(fù)實(shí)驗(yàn),制成了實(shí)用的電話裝置。1876年,貝爾又獲得了美國(guó)的電話專利,他不僅發(fā)明了電話,而且建起了世界上第一家電話公司。 1.Do you know who invented the telephone? 2. why did

10、正式,它們引導(dǎo)的從句通常放在主句之前,有時(shí)也放在主句之后:1)As you werent there, I left a message. 2)Since you are wrong, you should apologize. since 可用于省略句,而其他三者不行:1)Since so, I have nothing to say. 既然如此,我無(wú)話可說。Grammar Grammar 關(guān)于 for:是并列連詞,其余三者為從屬連詞 表原因時(shí)提供補(bǔ)充說明,for 分句應(yīng)后置,有時(shí)可與because替換 還可表示對(duì)前面內(nèi)容的解釋或推斷比較,不可與Because替換:1)The ground
