But whatever they grow they make sure that what is left in the ground after harvesting becomes a natural fertilizer for the next year’s crop. 1) whatever作連接代詞,意為“無論什么;不管什么”, 連接賓語從句、主語從句。如: They eat whatever they can find.,You can take whatever you like. 2) whatever作連接形容詞,意為“論什么樣的”。應(yīng)當注意, 此用法的whatever必須同其被修飾的詞一起放在從句前引導從句。如: I can do whatever work I can find.
