5、stronomy and the planets. Listen to the teacher’s instruction and learn to read the names of the eight planets. Stimulate the students’ interest in the science of the stars. 2. Scanning (5 minutes) Let the students find out when humans beings appeared. Scan the passage and find out the answer

6、. Help the students get familiar with the passage and get ready for careful reading. 3.Careful reading (15 minutes) Get the students to read the passage carefully paragraph by paragraph. Read the passage carefully, answer some questions and sum up the main idea of each paragraph. Help the stu

7、dents find out the main idea of each paragraph. 4.Retelling (5 minutes) Help the students discuss and put the order of development of life into a timeline. Discuss the order of the development of the earth and the development of life. Make sure the students fully understand the whole passage

8、and can retell it. 5.Discussing (10 minutes) Ask the students to brainstorm and discuss what we can do for the earth. Students brainstorm and discuss the topic. Enable the students to think and talk about what to protect for the earth. 6.Presentation (5 minutes) Ask some students to show an

9、d read their drafts, make some comments and evaluation. Some students read their drafts according to what they have discussed. Make sure the students fully understand the passage and enable them to learn to use newly-learnt knowledge and skills. VII. Design on the blackboard and the screen Mo

And the passage tells the readers the scientific idea in order of time. So a timeline is helpful for the students to better grasp the main idea of it. The earth itsel

12、f and the living things on it are all very important to us human beings. So we should protect the earth, but how? So the students are to discuss what we can do to protect the earth according the development of the earth and life. The students can brainstorm as many ideas as possible. The students’ performance will be evaluated after and according to their presentation. 2
