Learn the spellings and usages of the cardinal and ordinal numbers
Step 1 Warming up

1. Teach the spelling and usages of car

2. Teach Ss how to read the cardinal numbers:

1) People from about 180 countries and areas live in New York.

We use ordinal numbers to order things and events. We use them to talk about
dates, floors, positions, etc .
e.g. Women’s Day is on the eighth of March.
Our flat is on the seventh floor.
He is always the first to come to school in our class.

一、基數(shù)詞用法
1. 基數(shù)詞在表示數(shù)量時與表示編號、號碼時的讀法不一樣。
數(shù)字:87,300,005
讀作:eighty-seven million three hundred thousand and five
電話號碼:82772906
讀作:eight two seven seven

2. hundred, thousand, million 有不加‘s’和加‘s’兩種情況:
I have two hundred books. ( 不可加s)
我有二百本書。
I have hundreds of books. (必須加s)
我有數(shù)百本書。
二、序數(shù)詞用法
1. 表日期:the fifth of June (=June the fifth) 6月5日
2. 表順序或編號:
the second lesson (=Lesson Two)
3. 序數(shù)詞常與the連用,但以下兩種情況不用the
