1、 Period 4 Pronunciation; Writing; Task 整體設(shè)計(jì) 教材分析 The contents of this period are Pronunciation; Writing and Task. In the first part of this period students will practice their intonation in exclamations. Then read the passage and find the plot, characters, opinion and the setting of the film. Ne

2、xt, write a review of a film according to the passage students have just read. After putting down the information about the film, students should give their opinions about the film. In the last part of this period, the students are required to write a film page for a magazine. In this period, there

6、n 1. Greet students as usual. 2. Check up their homework. 3. Have a dictation of the new words they have learned. →Step 2 Pronunciation 1. Play the tape for students to listen to and follow. Listen to the exclamations. Does the intonation go up or down at the end of the word or phrase? Let

7、students read through the exclamations first. Play the recording for them to just listen to and follow. Play the recording again for them to decide the answers: they can check with a partner. Play the recording again for them to check. Collect the answers from the whole class, having the student

10、hich paragraph gives the writer’s final opinion? 4 Which paragraph tells you about the setting of the film (Where and when the film takes place)? Read through the questions with the students and make sure they understand them all. Ask them to complete the activity individually, then check with a

13、, exciting 3. Write a review of a film you have seen. Follow these instructions. 1 Choose a film you would like to write about. 2 Write one or two sentences about the setting of the film. 3 Write a paragraph about the plot. 4 Write about the main characters and the actors who play them. Say if

16、lm you have seen. Follow these instructions. A Film about Unification—Hero Hero is a martial arts film. The story is about the famous assassination of the King of Qin. Directed by the 50-year-old director Zhang Yimou, the plot of Hero offers an unexpected twist on a traditional tale set at the vi

17、olent dawn of the Qin dynasty, about 220 B. C. China’s soon-to-be first Emperor is on the way of conquering the war-torn land and three of his most passionate opponents (played by Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi)are trying to assassinate him. 26、and Google are both very powerful search engineers. 備課資料 Intonation語調(diào) 語調(diào)(intonation)是一句話里聲調(diào)(pitch)高低抑揚(yáng)輕重的配制和變化。英語有五種基本語調(diào): 升調(diào)(↗)、降調(diào)(↙)、升降調(diào)(∧)、降升調(diào)(∨)以及平調(diào)(→)。一句話除了詞匯意義(lexical meaning)還有語調(diào)意義(intonation meaning)。所謂詞匯意義就是話中所用詞的意義,而語調(diào)意義就是說話人用語調(diào)所表示的態(tài)度或口氣。一句話的詞匯意義加上語調(diào)意義才算是完全的意義。同樣的句子,語調(diào)不同,意思就會(huì)不同,請看下例:

27、 A: Jean,can you bring me the newspaper? B: Sorry? (↗) Jean用升調(diào)說“Sorry”,其意思是“I didn’t hear you. Could you say that again,please? ” A: Jean,can you bring me the newspaper? B: Sorry. (↙) 在第二段對話中,Jean用降調(diào)說“Sorry”,顯然其意思是拒絕幫助或無能為力。 英語主要有三種語調(diào),分別是升調(diào)、降調(diào)和降升調(diào)。 1. 升調(diào)一般表示“不確定” “話還沒有說完”或者“禮貌” 。經(jīng)常用于下面幾類句

28、型中: 1)一般疑問句(Yes-no questions) Is he coming tonight? Have you got the tickets? 2)反問句(Statements intended as questions) You are definitely coming? You like it? 3)表示安慰或鼓勵(lì)(Statements intended to be soothing or encouraging. ) Come with us. 4)重復(fù)(Repetition questions) When did you come? 2.

29、 說話時(shí)用“降調(diào)”,常常給人一種“完結(jié)”的印象。所以能使用降調(diào)的句子有以下幾類: 1)陳述句(Ordinary statements) You came on Tuesday. I’d like some tea. 2)特殊疑問句(Wh-questions) When did you come? What’s the time? 3)帶命令口吻的祈使句(Imperative sentences—strong commands) Put it over there! Go and find it! 4)感嘆句(Exclamatory sentences) What

30、an awful film that was! 3. 如果要表示出“說話人改變主意,或話外有話之意”,就可以用“降升調(diào)”。它主要出現(xiàn)在下面的句式中: 1)含有對比的陳述句(Statements where contrast is implied. ) You can come on Tuesday but not Monday. He doesn’t want it but his brother may. 2)含保留意見的陳述句(Statements which imply reservation. ) I know his face. I like the colour of your dress. 3)否認(rèn)或矛盾(Statements which show disagreement or contradiction) —I can’t do it. —You can. —She arrived on Monday. —On Tuesday. 4)警告(Warning. ) Be careful.
